"ride the glide"

...took on a whole new meaning for Ken today (September 23, 2005) during his 3rd ever riding lesson.  Cosmo (previously believed to be a gelding, but lately we've changed our minds that the vet wasn't as thorough as we thought) lives in the pasture where the ring is and has decided all mares coming to give lessons are fair game.  Making a long story longer, Cosmo used studly courting endearments which included running as fast as he could on the outside of the arena to drive Bee Bee round and round the ring while I was trying to save Ken from an almost certain untimely lesson on how to gallop freeform style.  Fortunately for all concerned, the lady taking pictures in the apple tree managed to capture this photo for us of the lesson, and the flash scared Cosmo off long enough for Jen to catch him and take him in the barn to live next to River so they could discuss their studliness together.  In the meantime, Bee Bee and Zephyr continued the lesson with no further ado and Ken was awarded the NPF Gold Star Achievement Award (and a free pass to the nearest Laundromat to clean his spiffy riding pants.)

ARE THE RUMORS TRUE?

Yes, New Promise Farms is trimming back the herd.  Dodie has a sponsor and is running endurance very heavily in 2005.  Still standing 4 gorgeous stallions, still offering full care boarding and training services, we just won't be having the same amount of foals for sale or mares for lease and we are no longer offering public riding lessons.
